LIFT-UP's Farm 2 Food Pantry program partners directly with area farms and ranches to make fresh, locally grown produce, meat and eggs available to our food pantry guests.

Nourishing those in need
The Farm 2 Food Pantry program accounts for a third of LIFT-UP’s food budget, but that extra cost makes an enormous difference in the lives of our pantry guests.
Fresh fruits and vegetables support more balanced diets – especially for children, whose growth, learning and development depend on proper nutrition. Locally sourced beef, poultry and eggs, which are often out of reach for the families we serve, supply essential protein and reduce reliance on processed foods. Seasonal and specialty items – like roasted Hatch chiles, fresh herbs and Palisade peaches – help families maintain cultural traditions and prepare meals they can feel proud to share.
Supporting farmers
The Farm 2 Food Pantry program partners with 10 area farms and ranches to purchase wholesale quantities of their products. These forward-paying contracts provide producers with financial security and up-front cash to grow their operations.
Local sourcing offers greater security during economic downturns or supply-chain disruptions, and rewards growers for using sustainable practices. Buying local keeps more money in the local economy and creates homegrown jobs. It also reduces transportation emissions.
